This machine was produced in 1912, not long after Singer had stopped producing machines still bearing the Wheeler & Wilson name (having bought the company in 1905) and unusually the model designation indicating a Wheeler & Wilson machine from the Bridgeport, CT factory is displayed as "W" rather than the later W.

The single vertical hinged spool pin holder was used on Wheeler & Wilson domestic and slow speed industrial machines (many German versions also use this type of spool pin).

The 12W12 is a short arm version of Wheeler & Wilson's style, using wheel feed. It was adapted for leather and glove making, particularly for fine shoe and glove stitching. Wheel feed and roller pressers are primarily used in leather and shoe industries as they are ideal for use with curved seams and turning tight corners. Has a 7/8" roller presser (#204570). Max. speed 1800.
