1920 - 1932 and manufactured in America. Rotary hook machine, built in Singerlight, "potted motor", small balance wheel, stitch length regulator at base of pillar, lower parts are automatically lubricated by wicks from a central oil reservoir (this wicking system was only found on the 101), chromium plating. The 101-11 portable electric was made of aluminium. Decal pattern is known as Knots & Rectangles. Only 230,475 machines made in total from 1920 to 1932 inclusive.

The difference in some of these sub-classes is unclear:
101 - Electric machine on specially designed cabinet, for cash only. 35 (over double the price of other machines!)
101-2 - cabinet - knee controller
101-3 - cabinet - knee controller
101-4 - cabinet - chromium plating - adjustable knee controller
101-10 - portable - aluminum - knee controller
