Serata with Swedish Connection

#654?71, 1904, courtesy of Thriftwizard. This machine may or may not be a Stoewer. The name Serata was registered in 1903. The bobbin winder is not a regular Stoewer variety, but may have been produced by the company, or another. The case is a typical Stoewer case. Intriguingly the machine has a part underneath with 'Sweden' stamped on it. It is possible the machine was made or part assembled in Sweden to avoid anti-German sentiments. Adverts from 1917 and 1918 for different machines (one appears to be a Hengstenberg) refer to machines as "Made in Sweden" in inverted commas.
