Courtesy of B J Gates. #584097, 1902. This machine has the distinctive early bobbin winder of the Stoewer factory in Stettin, Germany. The Royal Leader was a name used by F J Cocks (usually with their merchants sign, Signum Mercatoris, the cockerel). They sold machines made by many different companies such as Jones, Haid & Neu, Stoewer etc. They had branches in Birmingham and Coventry in England.
